The Challenge
Robert Burns, a famous Scottish poet and lyricist admired for pioneering the Romantic movement, is celebrated annually on January 25th with large gatherings including family-style suppers, song, drink, haggis, and of course, spoken word. This is known as Burns Night. It makes perfect sense that Bruichladdich, Scotland’s most progressive Scotch whisky distiller, should get involved, especially during a year when celebration was more needed than ever.
The SOLUTION
Hosted by Collectif 1806, Soho design and executed Bruichladdich Burns Night, giving creative writers the opportunity to submit their literary pieces of work, and the trade the opportunity to be reunited over literacies and craft cocktails. Burns Night cocktail kits for and delivered to every attendee prior to the event on January 25th. Creative writers submitted poems, stories, and other narratives through our digital submission system, and eight authors were selected to perform their submission during the Bruichladdich Burns Night virtual event.
